GROUP THERAPY
Peer group therapy is recommended for school-aged children and adolescents who struggle with issues commonly experienced by children. Participating in peer group therapy can help children understand that they are not alone. Groups meet weekly for 8-12 weeks.
Social skills groups
Social skills groups are available for children with ADHD, high functioning autism, and without a diagnosis who have difficulty making or keeping friends, taking other people's perspectives, or engaging in conversation.
Navigating the Transition to College
Moving away to college is a major life transition full of excitement and change. This group prepares students for issues they will face so that they can make the most of college while preventing some of the stressors. Topics include roommates, alcohol/drugs, self-care, and classes.
Overcoming anxiety group
Children and adolescents are experiencing increasing rates of generalized anxiety and social anxiety linked to the use of social media and greater academic pressure. Groups are available to teach kids insight into these stressors and lifelong skills for reducing anxiety.
Getting organized group
Children with ADHD and problems with executive functioning often struggle with organization. PEACH offers a group that helps children and adolescents learn organizational strategies and other executive functions such as planning skills and creating routines.
Meditation for Stress Reduction
This groups introduces students to the use of meditation for stress reduction, a skill that can be used to address most concerns.
Addressing Addiction
Several groups are offered for the various addictions adolescents face, including cell phone addiction, video game addiction, and substance abuse.
